What about BankAccount and BankAccountEntry?

Dear all (and especially Olly),

The API documentation alludes to the possibility of BankAccountEntry
and BankAccount class types.

Can we have access to these too? I’m not just asking - I’d like to
work with them as soon as possible.

Thanks!

Mike

Sorry about that…I’ll stop posting random data to my account

Would love help beta test API2 when it’s ready!

Hi Chris,

I wondered why plymouthsolftwaresoletrader was causing errors in the app yesterday.

Creating bank account entries via the API will definitely not work right now, sorry. However, as you’ll have heard, there’s an APIv2 in the works and it does support creating manual bank account entries via the API. Keep your ears open about access to a beta sandbox in the near future!

Cheers,

Hi Olly,

Although not officially documented or supported, it is possible to retrieve bank account entries / transactions as XML via an API call to the bank account entries URL.

In the hope of adding bank transactions through my app (which is my main requirement), I tried reversing the process and POSTing some values via XML using the same data structure as the web site’s form.

As expected, this throws an HTTP500 server error from the server. Is POSTing a bank account entry via the API explicitly blocked in the web app, or should it be possible (even if frowned upon  to post some values given the right XML structure? If so, could you give us any hints as to what that structure might be…?

Thanks in advance!
Chris

Hi Olly,

Thanks. If you could get some form of BankAccount and BankAccountEntry
retrieval - even for beta/test use, that would help me out
tremendously and hopefully allow me to get my work out the door for
public consumption soon :slight_smile:

gently waves for attention on this thread, knowing the FAC developers
are incredibly busy but to be able to query (for read only) bank
accounts and their items would be like an early Christmas present, and
is needed in full at some point anyway

Hi Mike,

BankAccount and BankAccountEntry are not officially supported by the
API right now. We’ll definitely be making them available via the API
but I can’t give a precise date right now. I’m reasonably confident
that support for them will be added before the end of the year though.

Hi Olly,

Is there any likelihood of getting limited / BETA access to the
BankAccount and BankAccountEntry for only GET/Select of records
sometime sooner?

Best,

Mike

Hi Mike

I wouldn’t rule that out at all. Leave it with meOn Oct 20, 8:57 pm, Mike Wilson mike.wil...@evolvedsoftwarestudios.com wrote:
