Retrieve all VAT entries

Hello everyone,

I need to do VAT modelling for our cash flow forecast and I am trying to
export the VAT rates from Freeagent. Is there a way to get the VAT due
month by month via the API?

A big weakness of the online product is that you can’t easily export tables.

We have now spent quite a bit of time implementing your API, but it seems
that the VAT amounts are also not retrievable. Could you please clarify if
they can the retrieved. If this is the case we would have wasted 2 days of
valuable development time which would be very frustrating.

Hi Philipp,

You can get the VAT due by looking at the Trial Balance in the API. Make
several calls with the date parameter set to different months and you can
see how the total VAT amount changes month to month. Only totals of the
VAT accounts (VAT charged, VAT reclaimed, VAT deferred) are shown not the
individual transactions. Alternatively you can retrieve the invoices and
bills in the API and sum the VAT amounts from those. Does that help?
