Project management & Pipeline - Feature suggestions

With current features such as timeslips and projects, it would be great to build out a more in-depth project management tool, with aspects of basecamp and harvest would be ideal. Especially for business such as myself in the design/digital creative sector.

Tasks/Jobs, Project IDs, user assignment, methods to transfer estimates/line items through into projects and tasks.

I also think there is scope to expand the estimating aspect of Freeagent, to build out a basic pipeline tool. The contact management is already there, estimating is already there, it would be great to tie it together with notes and a traditional pipeline methodology where leads, estimates and communication could be managed, tracked and analysed.

Theres so much that can be done to tidy up accounting before bolting on loads of business management tools.

That’s fair from a pure accounting perspective, but for agencies, freelancers and service-led businesses, project delivery is inseparable from finance. Time, estimates, scope and profitability all live inside projects.

Strengthening the link between estimates, time, tasks and projects wouldn’t be “bolting on” features, it would materially improve reporting accuracy, margin visibility and decision-making for a large segment of FreeAgent’s user base.

Tools like Harvest and Basecamp already prove the demand! The opportunity here is tighter integration rather than separate systems.
