Partnership API Access

I’m trying to connect to our Partnership account via the new API. When
it comes to authorising the app I get an ‘Email or password not
recognised’ message when using my or my partner’s login.

API Access is enabled, and I can log into my sole trader account ok.

Hi Steven,

I’ve just run into this issue today: the most likely thing is that you
are using the same email for multiple FreeAgent accounts.

Since the API doesn’t ask for which subdomain you want to login to, it
just picks one (seemingly at random). Which is probably different than
the one you intended.

You can test which one it is trying to log you into by going to
http://freeagent.com, trying to login with the link at the top right,
and see which subdomain you get redirected to.

The solution so far (although I am hoping FA improve it) is to change
your email address for your accounts so they are all unique, or add
another user to your account with a different email to use for API
access.

Cheers,
Phil

Hi Phil and Steven,

At the moment FreeAgent picks the first account where there are multiple
accounts with the same email address. We’re working on a fix for this.
The workaround is to change the email address for the user to make it
unique.

Ah, well spotted Phil.

I *thought *my email was unique, but in fact I had registered an account a
couple of years ago with it which I had cancelled — though Freeagent must
keep hold of the user details. I can’t even change the email on the deleted
account because of course it no longer exists.

Be nice if this could be fixed.

Thanks Phil!On Wednesday, May 9, 2012 12:14:29 PM UTC+1, Philip Roberts wrote:
