One timeslip entry for two Freeagent accounts?

Hi, I’m trying for find out firstly if it is possible and if so, if there’s
somebody here who could help us do it!

I run a small design agency and all our services are invoiced on an hourly
time basis, so for us Freeagent it’s all about timeslips. All designers and
developers complete timeslips each day and we run weekly reports so our
clients can see how much time is being spent and on exactly what tasks. End
of the month the invoice is generated from those timeslip entries. All this
is very doable with Freeagent alone.

The tricky thing is we also do a lot of subcontract work with another
agency. They like the weekly timeslips we send them but they have to
re-enter the details into their Freeagent so they can pass it onto their
customer and subsequently invoice at the end of the month. We want to have
the ability to either:

A) Enter the time into a 3rd party database then choose Company A , Company
B or Company A and B to submit the time to. (Luckily we both use Basecamp
and import the projects from there so the projects are named the same)
B) Enter the time into our system then end of the week choose what projects
to copy over

I’m interested to hear any thoughts, suggestions how this could work!

Cheers Dan

Hi Dan,

My name is Dave and I am one of the Support Engineers here at FreeAgent.
I spotted that your post hadn’t been replied to so I thought I’d pitch in
with some helpful links.

The short answer is that absolutely, you should be able to use our API to
achieve what you’re looking for.
Our API allows for both the retrieval and creation of timeslips via a third
party integration.

The documentation here shows how timeslips can be retrieved, either in bulk
or by user/task/project, so you can get your timeslips out of Company A.

Our API will then allow the creation of an identical timeslip in Company
B:

You’ll obviously need someone with some coding know-how to actually develop
the integration but everything you’ve asked for is achieveable from a
technical point of view.

I hope this helps!

Dave - Thanks very much for your reply, that is really helpful.

I have a developer who may be able to help us out so it’s good to know it
feasible! I’ll check out the links…
