New Unincorporated Landlords account type coming

Hello Everyone

This is an important message that all API users should read

We are about to release a new company type for ‘unincorporated landlords’ to help support landlords who will be caught under MTD ITSA in the future. This new company type will only be available to our accountants channel initially and will go live today (Thursday 28th April).

Initially API access will not be available for accounts with this new account type for most endpoints. The endpoints available that will remain available will be:

bank_accounts

bank_accounts.json

bank_feeds

bank_feeds/<id>

bank_transactions/<id>

bank_transactions/statement

clients

company

Note: This is only for users who have the new ‘unincorporated landlord’ company type, all other company types will continue to work as documented.

We are working towards opening up the API for the new ‘unincorporated landlords’ company type in the coming months. When this update happens, this company type will have a new property object within it and will require some items to be tagged with a property_id. The requirement to link these items to a property will mean that if any of the below are being created/updated within one of these new account types, a property_id must be supplied:

bank_transaction_explanations

bills

credit_notes

expenses

invoices

journal_sets

We will update the API with this new property object and to allow the tagging of items with a property for the new account type when we implement these updates. We will give further updates as we progress with enabling the rest of the API endpoints for the new company type.

Thank you,
Darren Kelly
