Hi,
I am new to freeagent and in the process of switching over from Xero. One initial feature that is not working well for us is how discounts are applied. We have differing discount rules for different products and services usually contained within one invoice so a set discount applied to the entire order is not functional for us. Would it be possible to allow discounting to be applied per line (for example Line 1 £10 with 10% discount, Line 2 £10 with 20% discount etc)?

Welcome to the API forum, and thanks for your question! Reading it over, this sounds like it might be question about how FreeAgent works, rather than the API itself. I say that as the API here is reflecting how the FreeAgent web application works. If you are asking about FreeAgent’s behaviour, then you’d be better served talking to our wonderful customer support team, who will be happy to take a call, email or chat to you through problems or issues and help get you set up while you’re switching software.
If I’ve misunderstood and it is about the API itself, let me know a bit more detail and we can try to help over here.

Unfortunately, not. Discounts can only be applied to the invoice total - either interactively in FreeAgent’s GUI or via the API.
Just add separate line items with discounts for each one?
James is right, it’s not an API question though.
