Inserting HTML Link into new Invoice

Hi Freeagent team,

We’d like to insert a custom HTML link into each new invoice we generate
through the API. This will direct recipients to our site where they can
follow our custom payment and rating process, so we’d like to make it very
prominent and attractive if possible.

Does the API allow this, and how would you recommend we implement it?

Hi Carl

The invoices have very limited customisation options, but you can create an
email template from the app (Settings -> Email Templates). This can include
the following HTML tags at the moment:


  1. All of these can also have a style attribute.

    I suggest you insert an image inside a link pointing to your custom payment
    page, and styling the link as you’d like it to appear (centered, border,
    etc.). Depending on your needs you may not even need an image.
    Once you have this set up, you can use the invoice send email endpoint    https://dev.freeagent.com/docs/invoices#email-an-invoiceto send the email, which will use your default template.
