Enabling new login checks in Sandbox - please ensure the email address on your account is correct

Hi everyone,

To improve the default security of FreeAgent in all our environments, we plan to enable new login checks on all existing sandbox accounts.

This means that going forward, you’ll need to enter a one-time verification code - sent by email - whenever logging in from a new device for the first time or after clearing your cookies.

To make sure you’re not locked out of your sandbox account, please ensure the email on your sandbox account is correct. You can change your login email address by visiting Settings → Sign-in and Security in your FreeAgent sandbox account.

If you wish to opt out of this change and keep new login checks disabled in your sandbox account, you can visit Settings → Account Security Preferences, select ‘Optional for all users’ from the dropdown and “Apply change”.

We will not change the settings of any accounts that have explicitly set a preference.

New login checks will however be mandatory for Accountancy Practices and there is no opt-out.

This change will be made no earlier than 1st November.

For further information on new login checks, please refer to these Knowledge Base articles:

If you encounter any issues because you have signed up with an email address you do not have access to, in the first instance I would encourage you to just create another account with valid credentials:

As a reminder these accounts are provided on a free and temporary basis in order to test your API integrations.
