Thanks for your interest in trying out the Android app. Although this will
be a commercial (closed-source) app, I’ll likely use it as the basis of some
more Android tutorials.
I’ll be publishing the beta apks to a private Dropbox folder. If you use
Dropbox, please send me (via email) your Dropbox account email address and
I’ll add you to the shared folder. I’ll also post a message here when
something is available to try!
Thanks

I used the API to create http://www.agenttoast.com -this has so far
been quite successful so I’m planning to add new Time Tracking
software integrations
It was really to solve my own problem and then kind of grew from
there!
I’m also using the API to build an additional integration with WHMCS -
that is a nightmare to work with without an integration!
Also, my brother has written an android app for FreeAgent to “punch
in” and “punch out”, I’ll be helping him release that soon I hope
mobileAgent (for FreeAgent): get your accounts in your pocket.http://goo.gl/IuBU
What are others using it for?
I’d like a time-tracking app for android that pulled projects/tasks
from FreeAgent, so I can punch in and punch out easily. Perhaps like
Harvest’s. I’m using this as an excuse to learn Android.
I need to look at MobileAgent but I’m an Android weenie not an iPhone
dude but the functionality looks excellent. (if there were an Android
version of MobileAgent, I’d just buy it instead of trying to learn and
code.)
I am building a comercial Android app for my company. This is the old
website https://expensemagic.com/ and there is a link for the old iOS
app. All this is being redesigned.
I’ll also create a basic Android SDK for FreeAgent for the stuff I am
implementing. It is proving a challenge to get it working ok with Android
so I thought about giving back to the community.
The SDK will be open source and anyone can go and add more functionalities.
I’ll only implement the parts I need.
The Android app should be out in the next two months.

I’m using the API to build an Android client for FreeAgent Central at the
moment. I’ve been using timer apps, online notes, and Dropbox to keep track
of expenses and then uploading them into FAC.
Now it’s time to put everything together into a proper app! If you’d be
interested in beta testing the app, please let me know and I’ll set up a
link to download the development APKs.
Hey, Chris, I’m certainly interested in trying it out.
If you’re planning to open source this, I’d be interested in helping out as
well. I’m new to Android but have played with the FAC API for a bit in
Python and like it.
I was thinking about it, and using Mono for Android to reuse a lot of
the (MonoTouch) code from MobieAgent, but I have more iOS ideas than I
have time to implement, and I dont own an Android phone, it got back
burner’d.
I’ve had a few people ask for it, tho if you ask on Twitter, I’d
expect you to get a load of people who’d love to beta it.On Tue, Aug 16, 2011 at 10:59, JaffaB jaffa_brown@yahoo.co.uk wrote:
Chris,
Yes, very interested. Wondered why nobody had yet created a FAC
Android client for expenses and time tracking.

I have thought about doing an android version (I use monotouch, and
the same company does monodroid…), but I’ve not had time…On Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 15:03, Chris Shenton chris.shenton@gmail.com wrote:

So far, I’ve found it good. There are a few gaps, but I think those
are being looked at for v2. I hope they are
A few inconsistencies here and there, but the support from FA has been
very good.On Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 18:38, David Goodchild dave@davegoodchild.co.uk wrote:
