Is there any way to enable online payment using Stripe via the API? Does
the box actually need to be checked or can we just generate a URL to enable
people to pay without doing this?

Thank you for your message and my apologies the delayed response; we’ve
been delivering some new API functionality and I wanted to check whether
your query was affected.
I’m afraid that it’s not currently possible to manage online payment
methods via the API.
That said, we’re collating a list of API feature requests and I’ve created
a card for your enquiry:
Please could I ask you to “vote” on this card to register your interest in
the feature; we’d love to deliver our most popular requests in future API
releases.
I’m sorry that I can’t give you better news at this time!

Just a quick pointer to Online Payment Methods where we’ve announced support (in beta currently) for online payment methods in the API.
