Change to validation of sales tax rate for EC Services invoice?

Hello!

I have started to see errors over the past few days when trying to create an EC Services invoice where the items don’t have any sales tax rate specified.

I am sure this used to work :wink:

The error message back from the API is:

invoice_items.sales_tax_rate must be 0% for EC Services invoices, 
invoice_items contain errors, 
This invoice cannot be sent as EC Services are out of scope of VAT

Have any validation rules changed at FreeAgent’s end recently?

It looks like between 12pm and 12.30pm this afternoon these invoice attempts succeeded. I hadn’t changed anything at my end.

Did something change in FreeAgent?

Hi Andrew,

Sorry for the delay in following up.

You were correct in your original message - in certain scenarios our validator was not permitting invoices with items which omitted the sales tax rate. A fix went out for this yesterday.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if this becomes an issue again.
